What we have done this week...
Religious Education: The children learnt about why we worship on Sunday and the importance of Christ's saving work. The children in Room 3 brainstormed the word 'liturgy'. One important aspect of our faith is knowing about Christ's saving work and also doing our part to share/be part off Christ's saving work.
Reading: We have continued to read our novels. The children should be bringing these home daily and are working with the teacher and buddies to complete activities. This week some of the children are working with a buddy to help enhance their CSI strategies especially 'I think that mean...' and 'I have a picture in my head...'. The children are working well.
Narrative Writing: In the beginning of the week Room 3 explored two stories that were written last week. We focused on our editing and proofreading. We then wrote a story together about Mr A making a wish. The children used some fantastic language and were learning how to use speech marks. Great work this week.
Inquiry: Fair Play
The children started to explore the concept of fair play. The prime example this week was that of the Belarus shot putter being stripped of her gold medal due to drug use. Fair play? Athletes need to abide by the rules of competition and every person should be on a level playing field. We will continue to explore this topic next week.
