Term Three Maths

Kia Ora,

This term Room 3 are going to be learning a range of multiplication and division strategies.

We will be starting with multiplication strategies.

Above are six examples of the strategies we will be using in class.

The goal is for students to be confident at using a range of strategies, and to pick the best one for each problem. 

I encourage you to ask your child what strategies they are learning, and have mastered over the next few weeks.

It is also very important for your child to be fluent in their times tables up to the 10X. 

In order for them to learn and use new strategies they need to be able to recall their basic facts instantly. The more confident they are in their basic facts the more progress they will make this term. Please encourage them to learn their times tables at home.
