Term Two Is Here

Greetings, I hope you have had a wonderful two week break. Room 3 deserved a good holiday after all the work they completed in Term 1. Well what is happening this term?

Firstly, we will begin to look at some science experiments and demonstrations for the children to get their creative juices flowing for their Science Project. More information will follow and this has changed slightly from last year and more user friendly for parents.

Secondly, this term in numeracy we will be looking at the strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. It is important that your child learn the times table and to practise them. there are many good website to play maths games, but also the children do have access to Mathletics. I have talked to Room 3 children and said that if they go on Mathletics 20-30mins a night is sufficient. Practise makes Perfect.

The children will continue being tested in spelling in the morning. The children should be taking home their spelling books and frog lists each night. If they are not bringing home their spelling, please flick me an email.

Later this term, the children will begin weekly winter sports. This is an exciting time for the Yr 5 children who have not participated before. The children have chosen the sport they wish to play. They had the choice of netball, rugby, football, and hockey. Netball hover has changed to a 5-a-side quicker game, which some children have opted out. This will allow them to try another sport.
